let me tell you about teaching

I love vocal coaching. My goal is to arm you with some techniques and tricks, so that you stay true to your love of singing. Or find it. Or feel confident in it.

Every person I've worked with is different. I like to meet people where they are. It's a dance and I have tools in my toolkit, informally and formally gathered over years. I like to set people up with deep listening, self-exploratory techniques that they can take with them eventually.

It's not usually a long term, conservatory-style approach.

Sometimes people need permission to really open to the fullness of their own expression through singing.

Some people want to learn how to sing more in tune, follow the breath, become more fluid, bridge gaps between registers and other technical tricks.

Some people need to lose technique, get out of their head and learn to be a conduit for the beauty, the longing, the story of a song, or the song prayer that longs to be heard. Climb inside, really inside, the music.

We can prepare for a performance. Or we can dig deep into singing for its own sake.
