Friends, this is an album release concert AND an exciting Ann Arbor debut of Kalamazoo’s Aurora & Antheia- an improvisational chamber folk trio I am in love with. I am a super fan. I’m excited to share them with you - but also to SING WITH THEM!

So it’s a double bill - Aurora & Antheia will play and then, the trio will join Beth and I as we take you through the journey of Kintsugi - an album we just recorded featuring meditative vocal meditations on the theme of holy imperfection. And will there by singing in the room? Yes, that too.

When I was studying with David Darling at Music for People, he always used to tell us - “record your album!” He died before I gathered the courage to venture to Connecticut to his studio and record with him. And if it weren’t so cliche to say “better late than never”, I would say that now.

I hope you’ll come celebrate with me, and Beth - and Carolyn. I will conjure up David’s goofy smile on the faces of all of you.

Beth Patterson’s voice is deep and rich like a cello, you will want to hear it. Carolyn Koebel is a master percussionist and improvisor with so many projects and albums to her name, I cannot count. Cori Somers is one of the most beautiful improvising violin players I’ve ever encountered - and Laurie Jarski plays an actual cello, entering into portals and realms with her passionate heart in her bow.

The warmth and kindness of soft gold will abound and mend our broken hearts as we sing and share our offerings with you.
